Taking Joe back to his Roots

Yorkshire Tea was an England Cricket sponsor and keen supporter of grassroots cricket with charity, Chance to Shine. To shine a spotlight on our partnerships and the power of cricket for young people, we arranged to take newly-appointed England captain, Joe Root to surprise pupils at his old Primary School near Sheffield. It was an inspiring day for all, with over 20 journalists travelling from London to see the great work of the partnership first-hand. Countless pots of tea were enjoyed together in the staff room, more than 100 articles were published and the entire school’s day was made!
